This Winter’s “It” Coat
From editor Giovanna Battaglia to model Xiao Wen Ju, everyone this winter was sporting oversized fur coats (both faux and the real deal). With a month left of chilly weather, now’s the time to check out the selection of similar coats on eBay, like this long-haired faux coat or this slim faux fur vest.

Love for Louis
First seen set against blue icebergs around the neck of model Werner Schreyer in Louis Vuitton’s 2012 Autumn/ Winter campaign, the camel and charcoal pattern in this gorgeous scarf (seen above) immediately communicated a sense of absolute luxury that the brand is known for. It’s subtle, yet signature. If you’re looking for something a little more traditionally flash, eBay has a few wool scarf options to check out here.

A Boy’s Life

When it comes to street style, the women and men of fashion week go toe-to-toe, neither party backing down for the sake of inferior accessories, less-than-magnficient shoes, or ho-hum handbags. Winter, however, can be the great equalizer, meaning that the decadent, impractical items get tucked away in favor of a more practical aesthetic, all in the name of warmth. But even when dressing for the cold, you don’t have to sacrifice your style. (You’ll see no puffy coats shot by the likes of Tommy Ton, after all). Here, the gentlemen of the menswear shows this January all sport gorgeous, textural pieces — blazers with rough edges, tough military coats, dandy scarves. It might not be the regalia we drool over from warmer months, but it will have to do.

White Christmas
Having temporarily relocated to Los Angeles from New York City for the holidays, I’m jonesing for a little winter wonderland. Sure, there are the chilly realities to contend with: the snow chains, the shoveling of sidewalks, the discomfort that accompanies being extremely cold. But right about now, surrounded by blue skies and palm trees, I’d do anything for a little cup-of-cocoa-by-the-fireplace nostalgia. For those of you blessed with snow this Christmas (the grass is always greener… or, in this case, whiter), eBay is the place to go if you need to stock up on the winter essentials. Check out their selection of snow shovels, snow chains, or these wool beanies by Supreme. I’ll be living vicariously through you, for better or worse.

Pretty in Pink
This boy did one heck of a job matching his glasses to his collar to his lips, that’s for sure. We love the play on pastels and the pop of delicate color, especially after two months of seeing mostly black coats and jeans wandering around New York City. Winter can be so dull, can’t it? So stock up for spring and summer of 2013 by adding these pink Acne shades to your collection. Or, better yet, go somewhere tropical this winter and wear color to your heart’s content. Oh, and please send pictures. We’ll be living vicariously through you.

Not Your Father’s Puffer Vest
By Jenny Bahn
The puffer vest. One of those warm and toasty items of clothing most often associated with function, not fashion: fishing trips on freezing mornings, sub-zero ski trips, camping with the fam. Despite their tendency to go disastrously wrong, there’s a reason the puffer vest has stuck around for as long as it has, and that reason has something to do with keeping you very, very warm. Yes, when February comes around, you might be begging for one of these to double (or triple) layer underneath a coat, just to make sure you keep the essentials warm. Check out these options from Quiksilver, True Religion, and Aeropostale.

Construction Boots
By Jauretsi
We think foxy girls can wear anything and get away with it. For those women bracing themselves for winter, we suggest investing in a reliable pair of construction boots. Companies like Caterpillar (who create heavy machinery) provide true cred in the shoes department. Their boots, available on eBay, can also be a brilliant asset on those snow covered mountain hikes. Another brand at the same level are the traditional Timberland Boots, also found on eBay, which can be paired with the right black quilted winter jacket for that cool rough outdoorsy sensibility. Strength in clothes means strength of character.
