The word “sneaker wedge” is a term that used to give me the creepy crawlies. Simply put, it was the type of thing I imagined other girls buying. Suddenly, I started hearing about these Isabel Marant sneakers word of mouth in the last year. Given the fact she is one of my favorite designers, only Isabel can make me bend. It seems like cool chicks like Gisele Bundchen to Beyonce have been rocking them with grace and swagger. Street blogger William Yan called them out with this snapshot while covering New York’s Fashion set.

Overall, the wedge sneaker trend is growing fast, with sales blowing up in recent weeks (as opposed to earlier this year). Currently, there are 7,000 pairs of wedge sneakers available on the marketplace. About a third of all wedge sneakers sold on eBay are Isabel Marant (the highest sold at $1,435 for a pair of pink and black Isabel Marant Willows), which means she’s king of the mountain… or um, queen, that is. There’s some great starting bids this week, so get in, before they get out.
