16 Days ‘til Christmas
Want to give the gift of art but can’t afford the real deal? This little piece from the artist KAWS — found in eBay curator (and musical powerhouse) Pharrell Williams’ “Best Toys Ever" collection — makes that idea accessible. It’s smaller, cheaper, and perfect for a holiday gift. Click here to see it.
Remember those plastic View-Master’s you had as a kid? Well, this is kind of the parent of it. Feast your eyes on the Snapscope, which is itself derived from the even older stereoscopic viewer. The earliest invention of these nifty old gadgets dates back to 1838. Though the design of each subsequent viewfinder has changed, the mechanics remain the same, utilizing an optical trick to make your brain turn two different photographs into a 3D image. Pretty cool.

Kids & Toys
Children and their toys are no different than these adult fashionistas we like to write about — all recoiled around their most prized possessions. Some have more, some have less, but nonetheless, the toys represent who they are. For this fascinating new project called Toy Stories, Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti traveled the globe for 18 months to capture children and their toys. Read this article to discover interesting findings on kids and the quantities of their toys.

eBay Now: Your Son Can Now Bake in One Hour
Breaking News: Starting February 2013, Hasbro will officially make their Easy-Bake Oven gender-free. No more feminine pink for the baker boys. Yesterday, an eighth grade girl delivered 44,000 signatures to Hasbro’s headquarters from friends who demanded a gender-free version of this toy. The result? Hasbro will be releasing a silver and black edition in 2013. Go America!
This Christmas, if your little man is strong enough to endure purple and pink shades, we think he should begin his cooking early. eBay has a few vintage Easy-Bakes to purchase. If you really want it fast, download the eBay Now app and order the Hasbro Easy-Bake via the Toys R Us store, and get it delivered to your home within 1 hour! We’re not kidding. If you order between Dec 17th and 22nd, you’ll get the special gift all wrapped up in pretty Jonathan Adler wrapping paper. Embrace the kitchen boys and girls!

The Plush Life
By Jenny Bahn
Christmas is coming, and it’s coming quickly! This year, I’ve got countless kids to shop for. Newborns, infants, you name it — the list is long. In my opinion, a plush toy is a no-brainer. They’re cute, cuddly, and totally customizable. I mean, just check out the range of options we found. Dream Lite makes a plush toy that doubles as a stand for lights that are projected onto the ceiling of your child’s bedroom. For something classic, you can never go wrong with the teddy bear (and this one’s organic, to boot). And leave it to the French to make plush pillows in the shape of fashion icons such as Karl Lagerfeld and Ziggy Stardust (AKA David Bowie). Last, but never least, the cutie that just won’t quit… Elmo.
