Trendspotting: Mirrored Sunglasses
Iridescent mirrored shades started popping up a year ago on the runways but they really came into the spotlight when they were recently embraced by editors like Giovanna Battaglia and, subsequently, snapped by all the street style photographers. Polyvore is a great source for seeing what’s on the market right now (check out the options here). Sneaky shoppers that we are, we suggest scoping out your faves and then checking to see if they’re available on eBay. When it comes to an eBay search item like sunglasses, it’s best to be extremely specific in your query, otherwise you’ll end up with thousands of options that might not be right for you. Get the designer, the style name, and know the cost ahead of time. It’s a sure-fire way of getting exactly what you want… hopefully for a bargain.

Pretty in Pink
This boy did one heck of a job matching his glasses to his collar to his lips, that’s for sure. We love the play on pastels and the pop of delicate color, especially after two months of seeing mostly black coats and jeans wandering around New York City. Winter can be so dull, can’t it? So stock up for spring and summer of 2013 by adding these pink Acne shades to your collection. Or, better yet, go somewhere tropical this winter and wear color to your heart’s content. Oh, and please send pictures. We’ll be living vicariously through you.

The Real Magic School Bus

By Jenny Bahn

No longer do you have to be in New York, Paris, London, or Milan to be at the forefront of fashion. Warby Parker is democratizing the experience, bringing their showroom full of super cool glasses on a tour around the United States. To accomplish this goal, the Warby Parker team has transformed a big yellow school bus — “knitted out” as they say — into a wood-paneled showcase lined with their vintage-inspired eyewear and shelves full of books.

They’ve already hit New York, Boston, and Philly, but there are more stops to go. If you live in Nashville, Atlanta, Dallas, San Diego, or Los Angeles, you’re in luck. They’ll be on the road until February 19th, 2012. To learn more about the Warby Parker Class Trip, visit their website

Serious Sunnies
By Jenny Bahn
We’re on a Ray-Bans rebound, friends. The understated cool we’ve been channelling since the Bob Dylan days is getting pumped up a few notches, and simple, black wayfarers are getting traded out for chunky, colored frames. Girls are taking their shades as seriously as their shoes now, and that means the angular cat-eye frame is getting a new, exaggerated twist.

Mirror Mirror

By Sade Lythcott

Whether it’s on your fingers, neck, or around the waist, mirrored accessories are a trend to look out for. Take a look at accessories for yourself, including mirrored shades, beltsbracelets, and anklets on eBay. Careful not to mirror overdose. In this case, it’s about the one signature piece to accent the whole outfit.

Red Shades
By Jauretsi
How sexy are these oversized Leonard Paris cherry red sunnies? It harkens back to the sexy 70’s mom sitting next to her deluxe station wagon. We especially love the silver pyramid stud details with inset gold metal trims. The vintage pair is available now for $110 on the Nasty Gal site. The website is founded by Sophia Amoruso, who got her start selling on eBay, then created her own little empire. Read about the savvy entrepreneur in Forbes this month and prepare to be inspired. In the meantime, snag these beautiful red shades, since the vintage pieces are one-of-a-kind and move fast. There’s plenty of new clothes and accessories on the site as well, so feel free visit Nasty Gal for the whole shebang.
