Hanging with Masha Orlov: The Sunglasses
"I have had a fetish for glasses since I was little" says the stylist who’s worked with sharp editorial ranging from Purple to V Magazine. "I think it comes from my Jewish grandmother who used to wear the biggest, funkiest glasses."
This week, The Inside Source paid a visit to the home of Masha Orlov to see her world of objects. The stylist who’s worked with everyone from Purple Magazine to V Magazine busted out her shades collection for us.
Commenting on her addiction: “At this point, I only occasionally buy glasses because I already have soooo many. This past spring at a Paris street brocante, I saw beautiful 60s, 70s and 80s Dior, Emmanuelle Kahn and Louis Ferraud glasses but I passed them up because I already have so many vintage ones. I am more likely to give my glasses away as a present, sell them or barter them, then buy a new pair”. (Note: Masha just bartered late 70’s mens Christian Dior glasses for 3 haircuts with her favorite hairdresser.) “I am friends with the owners of the eyeglass brand Illesteva, so their glasses are my favorites to wear right now.”
