Yeah Yeah Yeahs Invite You To a Party Today for New Album
“We would love for this music to make our fans feeeeel something, for it to stir some shit up inside of them, whatever that may be. SO much feeling went into this record, it was the rope ladder thrown down into the ditch for us to climb up and dust ourselves off. I hope others can climb up it too; we’re excited to share the good vibes.”
Spoken by Karen O (now a blond!) of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s new album, Mosquito, releasing April 16th. Pssst. There’s a secret listening party… [MORE] on Vices’ Noisey.com today, April 3rd, at 3pm EST. It’s a digital stream party…perhaps a certain threesome will even start the party with some dish about each song. Tune in!

Round Two
Following Aretha Franklin’s performance for President Obama’s first inauguration, Beyonce held it down for round two. It seems fitting, given that Beyonce sang Etta James’s “At Last” for the President and the First Lady four years ago, at the Neighborhood Ball in 2009, where the the two had their first dance. To have been upgraded to sing the “Star Spangled Banner” for the main event seems perfectly fitting. We can’t imagine anyone else having done a better job.
