Katie Gallagher’s Show Nails
Katie Gallagher loves creating worlds. First with her paintings, then by turning them into garments with a narrative and universe attached to it — eyes and nails too (as seen on this model backstage). Women like Daphne Guinness to Lady Gaga religiously wear Katie’s pieces. On Friday, Katie presented a new collection at MADE with brilliantly witchy vibes. To view the whole Fall 2013 collection, see here.

Get Your Nail Game on in 2013
Behold a new set of nails to start the year with. It seems the classic nail polish brand Essie (you’ve seen the bottle in your local salon) has just gotten into the game of nail wraps. They’re fairly simple to put on. No fussy manicures, just a steady hand to apply these adhesives with and a neat pair of scissors to shape ‘em. To nab some of their traditional nail polish, check out eBay’s vast collection of Essie colors.
Colors from left to right, top to bottom: Over the Moon, Oh My Gold!, A to Zebra, Sneek-E, Glam It On, Don’t Cheetah On Me, Croc ‘N Chic, Steel the Show, Embrace the Lace, Stickers and Stones, Love to Love You, So Haute!

These nails, photographed for Elle Indonesia via myfavoritefashionthings, make you want to convert to black, even if the dark color is not your usual fare. The name of this exquisite polish is “Liquid Vinyl” created Orly Rich Creme available on CosmoPro. The brand Orly Rich has numerous other shades worth checking out too which you can find here on eBay. Embrace your inner dark side.

Speech Night: Nails & Dresses
While New York fashion women duke it out on the runways this week, somewhere else there are two leading women who trump them all — Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Romney. While selling their husbands to the American public, fashion decisions are not only crucial, but speak larger economic themes. Michelle Obama came out at the DNC with a sleeveless Tracy Reese dress and J. Crew heels, thereby effortlessly mixing high fashion with retail brands. Her nails? A grey shade of polish called “Vogue” by Artistic Nail Design. Available only at nail salons, the gel polish can last up to three weeks. Then there was Mrs. Romney, who not only came out very chic with her Oscar de la Renta dress, but also delivered a triple hitter with red nails, red lips, and red outfit — packing a Republican power punch at the RNC. Who will be the new champion lady? All we can do is wait bated breath for November to roll around.
