As many of you must have already heard, Vittorio Missoni, chief executive of the family’s eponymous fashion house, was in a small plane that disappeared last Friday, along with his partner and four others.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, here is what we know: The couple were vacationing in Los Roques, Venezuela’s coastal resort island, for the holidays with two of their Italian friends,Elda Scalvenzi and Guido Foresti. The four boarded the small BN-2 Islander aircraft, which was staffed by two Venezuelan pilots, and headed for Maiquetia, only 90 miles away near Venezuela’s capital, Caracas. But shortly after takeoff, the plane went off radar. The six missing persons or the aircraft have not yet been located.
As of right now, the search for the plane has intensified, with more than 385 people involved in discovering its whereabouts. Our thoughts are with the Missoni family during this very difficult time.
