Meet Sean Hotchkiss, a former fashion and style writer for GQ (before getting scooped up recently by J. Crew). His Instagram feed is a mix of behind-the-scenes action, global travels, and a few half-eaten donuts for good measure. Unlike our usual roster of must-follow fashion folk, it’s nice to get a man in the mix for a different, more masculine perspective.

Though with a pair of today’s fitted, well-tailored trousers, suspenders seem hardly necessary, they sure do make a fine accessory for a man (or a woman, really). We love this shot of Pharrell Williams, sporting a relaxed, hard-day’s-work look, suspenders hung loosely about his legs. The suspenders seen here are certainly traditional, but if you want to spice things up a bit, the options out there right now run the gamut. You’ve seen them once, and you’re seeing them again. Welcome the massive return of the ’90s staple shoe, Doc Martens. With their signature rubber sole and thick stitching, the boots are one of the most recognizable in the history of kicks. Ultimately, the design of new Docs hasn’t changed much, with the company opting to stay true to their wheelhouse while adding some contemporary selections to the board. If you’ve held onto your pair from high school, pull them back out. And if they’re not your style anymore, keep in mind there’s a market on eBay just chomping at the bit to buy them.

This boy did one heck of a job matching his glasses to his collar to his lips, that’s for sure. We love the play on pastels and the pop of delicate color, especially after two months of seeing mostly black coats and jeans wandering around New York City. Winter can be so dull, can’t it? So stock up for spring and summer of 2013 by adding these pink Acne shades to your collection. Or, better yet, go somewhere tropical this winter and wear color to your heart’s content.
