Monroe & Milton
If you peruse all the iconic Marylin Monroe images, you’ll come across a photographer named Milton Greene. Milton shot Marilyn at her most natural, probably because the two struck up a close friendship, and eventually a production company, called Marilyn Monroe Productions. This is a photo taken for one of the films (Bus Stop,1956) of the short-lived company, which eventually ended their friendship as well.

Milton + Marilyn
New York City-born Milton H. Greene had an enormously successful forty-year career as fashion and entertainment photographer, but he was best known for his images of Marilyn Monroe, whom he became great friends with. There are great prints, books, and posters on eBay right now. Click here to check them out.

Marilyn and More…
This past weekend, we had the chance to check out Bert Stern’s “Original Mad Men” exhibition at the Staley Wise Gallery in New York (running through May 18th, 2013). On display were a selection of his works, including some of his infamous shots of Marilyn Monroe, as well as Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, and Marlon Brando. There’s something about a vintage black and white photograph (or colored image for that matter) to add a unique kick to a room. Check out eBay’s smattering of Marilyn Monroe prints - for any price budget.

Blah to Bling
By Sade Lythcott
One of my favorite tricks is to make any outfit go from blah to bling by just adding one unexpected twist. Nothing achieves the lux look better than vintage costume jewelry, preferably with a rhinestone element…the goal is to twinkle. We found a picture of one our favorite fashion bloggers De Lune rocking this look. Think grandma’s broaches to Hepburn’s tiaras. If not, channel Marilyn in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Ready for the best part of this glam redeaux? You can find these treasures at smart prices here on eBay.
Marilyn Loved Bling
To Marilyn, diamonds were “a girl’s best friend”. Today, in a more conscious world, we think Marilyn would have substituted her jewels for cute imitations, such as these adorable Fallon earrings, part of the eBay Holiday Collection 2012. The clock is ticking. There are only 3 days left before these gems are released on Monday, November 12th via the Fashion Vault page on eBay. In addition to Fallon, eBay collaborated with Billy Reid, Chris Benz, Jonathan Adler, Ruffian, Steven Alan, and Tibi. You can check out product shots from our seven designers here, to see what’s in store. Another female icon of the moment, Katie Holmes, was actually spotted on New York streets walking with Steven Alan’s iPad case from this same capsule collection, seen here on InStyle.
If you’ve fallen in love with any one of the pieces, here’s a little secret. eBay will be having a 1 day sale for the early birds. If you download the eBay Fashion App this weekend, you’ll be invited to scoop up any of the seven designers on Sunday, a day before the sale goes online Monday morning. Did we mention one of our designers, Chris Benz, got lots of love this week during election night? Get yourself to these collector items first.

Just Because: Marilyn
Here’s something you don’t see everyday, Marilyn Monroe with a bowl of fruits. I see this photo and think abundance — in every way (wink wink). On a separate tip, I recently watched a documentary on Marilyn and her ex-business partner with whom she opened a production company. The film has obscure footage of her days when she hid out in Connecticut after leaving the Hollywood Studio system. You can stream Marilyn in Manhattan on Netflix.
