Hanging glass pendants in a kitchen is a great way to shed some light on your counters without having to invest in expensive recessed lighting. The ones seen here are the perfect solution to lighting in an older space with enviably high ceilings. We scoped out eBay for similar finds. Though you’ll have a ton to choose from (see here), we were big fans of the Tom Dixon chrome pendants and these Moravian star pendants.

The iconic Sputnik chandelier’s starburst of light and metal has been a midcentury design mainstay since its creation in the late 1950s. After the launch of the Soviet Union’s Sputnik satellite in 1957 and, subsequently, the development of NASA program in the US, the influence of space became far-reaching, touching everything from car design to home interiors. The perfect example of this is the Sputnik chandelier. Its style has been recreated by contemporary furniture companies such as Design Within Reach. But for those who want the real deal, eBay has an abundance of Sputnik chandeliers in various sizes and shades. Check them out here.
