For the connoisseur of 1960’s table lamps, consider exploring the works of designer Paavo Tynell and Jo Hammerborg. This Scandinavian table lamp is inspired with these greats in mind, and polished in brass with a teak setting. Read more on this eBay listing.
I Spy: French Wall Sconces
Mixing eras and styles, this Copenhagen apartment-turned-showroom perfectly brings together an Italian wicker chair, a Ludvig Pontoppidan settee, and a McCollin Bryan round Lens table into one cohesive vision. And you can’t forget about the stellar lighting, especially the French floral wall sconces circa 1930 — which eBay actually has a few of. Click here to see.

Taking cues from the famous midcentury Sputnik lamp, this Nikoll Emil Stejnar Blowball Sconce bursts outward like a gorgeous explosion of glass and gold. Designed by Emil Stejnar in the ’50s and produced by Viennese manufacturer Rupert Nikoll, the item is a “masterpiece of modernist design,” as the seller puts it. Click here to check it out on eBay.

I Spy: Glass Pendants
Hanging glass pendants in a kitchen is a great way to shed some light on your counters without having to invest in expensive recessed lighting. The ones seen here are the perfect solution to lighting in an older space with enviably high ceilings. We scoped out eBay for similar finds. Though you’ll have a ton to choose from (see here), we were big fans of the Tom Dixon chrome pendants and these Moravian star pendants.

Okay, I’ll admit it: I am a chandelier junkie. Whenever I see one, I want it. This proves to be a problem, being that chandeliers aren’t necessarily the easiest thing to incorporate into a home decor in multiples — unless, of course, you live in an estate fit for any Downtown Abbey character, and you very well might. Nevertheless, I am always on the hunt for that perfect chandelier. And if I can’t have it, you will! Check out this one in the French style, or this six-arm one from Europe with dripping crystals. If you’re really going for it, there’s an absolutely stunning brass and crystal number, also in the French style, at the Buy It Now price of $1,795.

Best of the Bedside
The Inside Source loves all things old and re-purposed. Take, for instance, this medical lamp. Mixed in with the warmth of a barn-style decor, what could be a cold and creepy instrument of the past is now perfectly suited for the new task at hand. eBay has an abundance of vintage medical lamps on offer, in a variety of heights, shapes, and sizes. When purchasing vintage lighting, always keep in mind that you might have to invest a small amount in rewiring. This is something you can easily do yourself or, if you rather, take to a professional to do, usually for around $30 depending on the size of the lamp and where you live.

A Cool 20 Year Old
Sometimes it’s nice to just see a girl know her tech. Meet Nadine, the girl who takes care of all the lighting and sound system in New York’s very prestigious Le Bain. She’s born and raised in New York (growing up in a DJ booth) thanks to her creative parents. The Standard Culture made this nice little intro piece on the girl who tends the disco ball.
