I Spy: Glass Pendants  Hanging glass pendants in a kitchen is a great way to shed some light on your counters without having to invest in expensive recessed lighting. The ones seen here are the perfect solution to lighting in an older space with enviably high ceilings. We scoped out eBay for similar finds. Mix it Up

Every well-stocked kitchen needs a few things: good knives, quality pans, and a KitchenAid mixer. Whether you’re baking some boxed brownies or whipping up a frothy meringue, you’ll never regret investing in this sturdy piece of equipment. At about $300 a pop, it might seem like a lot to invest in some homemade treats, but consider looking online for a deal — eBay has a variety of options to choose from, both used and new.
Once you’ve got your trusty mixer, head over to The Sprouted Kitchen, one of my favorite websites for healthy recipes and beautiful photographs of how-tos. Their “Everything Cookies” are next on my list of things to bake this fall.

Take a Seat

When it comes to decorating, I’m into hyper-white minimalism. It’s clean and streamlined, but sometimes a bit, I don’t know, cold. Even the beautiful starkness of the top kitchen is broken up with a few indoor plants. Colored chairs are a great way to introduce warmth into your home decor without compromising a simple and modern aesthetic. I love the vibrant blue industrial chairs featured below — such a great color. Here’s an idea: Buy a few industrial chairs and paint them precisely to your liking. I found these midcentury industrial stools on eBay that could easily be transformed with a bucket of your favorite shade.
