Play Your Cards Right

Delicate and refined, these playing cards from Misc. Goods Co. are the prefect foil to your run-of-the-mill sets from the local drugstore. Originally funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign, these are limited, first-edition decks, with a run of only 10,000. Like works of art, each are numbered and never to be reproduced. The decks run for $15 and can be purchased on their website. And if you’re feeling funky, eBay has some pretty amazing vintage selections worth checking out.

At 23 years old, Kim Novak had movies on her mind. Here she is inquiring about her future in 1956 after appearing in The Picnic. Two years later, Kim Novak would hit a home-run with Hitchcock’s Vertigo. Photographer Leonard McCombe followed the budding actress around for a Life Magazine portfolio (see here).
