I Spy: Ladder Love
When piecing your home together, consider a ladder to be more than just getting from Point A to Point B. The properly aged ladder can also serve as a visual break in a room, possibly holding magazines or fabrics or even acting as shelves (if the steps are thick). We recommend searching eBay for “alder ladders“ or “antique ladders.” Dig deeper with words like “barn” or “oak” to discover a few gems you can re-purpose for your new home.

Lodge Cookware
In our visual journey through Tumblr, we bumped into this striking cookware brand called Lodge. The company history dates back to 1896, when it was founded somewhere in Tennessee’s Appalachian Mountains. These guys don’t just make iron; they make “heirlooms that bring people together” says their mantra. Lucky for us, we spotted some Lodge items on eBay. Step up your cooking game with these pieces.

Home Inspiration: Pink Graffiti
Here’s a simple idea lifted from Kate Spade’s New York Fashion Week presentation with guest Brad Goreski. At Kate Spade’s 20th Anniversary celebration, the white walls were adorned with pink tagging. If you’re inspired by this look, eBay has several pink aerosol spray cans to choose from. If you’re really itchy to do this to your room, like, today, here’s an idea. Search for “pink aerosol” on the eBay now app, and get some cans delivered to your doorstep in less than 1 hour (note: The eBay Now service is only active in New York currently).

Mad for Mod
Streamlined, creamy, and pared down, this loft is absolute perfection. The mid-century furniture is complementary to the geometry of the space, no piece too flamboyant or jarring. Minimalist, when done well, is never boring, and what we’re loving here are the rows of pottery along the back wall, as well as the pieces decorating the long table. We could think of one thing: Heath Ceramics.
Edith Heath opened her namesake company in 1948, and the company has… [MORE] been producing ceramics in their small factory in Sausilito, California ever since. Over the last sixty years, Heath has secured its place as one of the most, to coin the company’s own phrase, “enduring examples of mid-century design.” We’re all for keeping that tradition alive. Check out Heath’s wares on their website, or swing on over to eBay as an alternative.

Mirror, Mirror
Last week, we reported on mirrored coffee tables. This week, we’re going for something a little more traditional. Here you see a rather gorgeous industrial mirror, obviously still hanging in the shop if we had to judge by the reflection and the chockablock items stacked near by. (That being said, we’re kind of into the thrift-store chic of it all) In terms of scoping out mirrors on eBay, we had to do quite a bit of digging. As it turns out, mirrors are one of those Goldilock’s items (too big, too small, just right). We found that lots of great pieces came up if we added “art deco” to the search query. The result are a multitude or beautiful shapes and good quality items. The trick here is to really know what you want and get specific, even down to the era.

Handy People
My dad’s a mechanic. My mother, though not a professional in that sense, is as handy as he is. Growing up, I never really had to think about fixing anything. When something broke, one of my parents would handle it. I, spoiled by the free services, simply stood around and offered moral support. Cut to 2013. I am, unsurprisingly, not the handyman I dreamed I could be. Unfortunately, I am not spared from having things fall apart around me. Fortunately for me, eBay has a whole slew of books for both novice and accomplished handymen (and women). After I’ve studied up, I can grab a prepackaged toolkit to put my knowledge into action.

A Touch of Blue
By Jenny Bahn
Once again, here’s an otherwise white space featuring splashes of color applied with restraint — a little blue here, a little seafoam green there. I’m especially fond of the cobalt chair and sofa. The hints of bold color in this abode make the space seem less washed-out, anchoring the room with some solid saturation. I found a similar chair on eBay with a richer tone of blue and a handy matching ottoman… just in case you were looking.

I love a good owl figurine. It’s considered a bird of wisdom. In Native American circles, the animal spirit also represents magic, evening, and prophecy. Here’s a bevy of adorable owl figurines to plant in your home for lucky mystical vibes.

Goodbye Antlers, Hello Horn
By Emily Hsieh
While the antler craze of the last five years seems to have finally reached its peak, horn—in less literal, more sophisticated iterations—is holding steady in fashion and design circles. We’ve been spotting it in unexpected forms like watch bands and place settings as well as in perennially stylish plates and bowls.
