eBay Auction: Bon Iver’s Whiskey Barrel Guitar
The idea of making a guitar out of a Whiskey Barrel is quite intriguing. The fact it was conceived by Justin Vernon (frontman of Bon Iver) is even more appealing. Here’s the best part, the guitar is currently on auction on Ebay through November 2nd. The baritone guitar (pictured above) is made of original white oak wood from a Bushmills Irish Whiskey barrel. You’ll be happy to know that the money will benefit The Confluence Community Arts Center in support of Justin’s hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Listen to the story in this charming little video with Vernon and his longtime friend, guitar maker Master Luthier Gordy Bischoff on how it all came together.

Chicks with Guitars
Years before the saccharin-induced pop music of Britney Spears, there was a time when girls rocked hard. Sure, the Runaways were set up as a pop group by a mastermind manager, but the difference is these ladies could rip hard and hit the right keys. We encourage all the inner rock chicks to be unleashed. Ebay has an enormous pool of electric guitars at great prices, including a brand new Crescent Blueburst Electric Guitar, with Strap, Gigbag, plus WARRANTY for $69.99 at a “Buy It Now” price. Go on, take it back to the old days. The world needs more female rock anthems!
