Into the Wild
By Jenny Bahn
Animal print coats — cheetah, in particular — have always been a little too, well, feral for my tastes. For whatever reason, it’s never been something I could pull off. That doesn’t stop me from appaulding the girls who do and can (Kate Moss for Supreme, anyone?). When considering a fur coat, I like to stay as animal friendly as I can, and I’m a big advocate of vintage for the sole reason that you’re not putting new demand for a product that sometimes utilizes inhumane practices. If you’re going to stay warm this winter, try to be as animal friendly as possible and, if you must go for fur, buy a gently used one. Here are some cheetah-print coats I found on eBay, as well as some pretty swank vintage furs.

The Long and the Short of It
By Jenny Bahn
Whether you like it or not, they’re back. I’m talking about athletic shorts. I wore these all the time for the better part of the 90s, for both fashion (spandex floral shorts for school) and function (softball practice). Just like sweatpants, which became chic when designers started making them in fabrics other than terry cloth, athletic shorts are getting another look. Perhaps all I was missing before was a fur coat to pair them with.
