Tonight. Good Party. Good Cause.
Thank God its Friday! For all The Inside Source readers in New York, here’s an event we recommend to come and support. For starters, it’s hosted by previous babes we’ve filed under “Mad Respect” — DJ Mia Moretti and Cleo Wade, with violinist extraordinaire, Margot.
The creative women put their heads together recently and called all their friends and asked them one word… their favorite word, actually. Folks from Questlove to Katy Perry pitched in. Painter Cleo Wade masterminded painting interpretations of these words. The mission? 25 words. 25 paintings. 1 Goal. All proceeds of the artwork will go directly to 3villages1goal.org, supporting relief efforts in Philippines.
Quick, clever, effective, and a rad party to attend tonight in New York. Friday, November 22nd, at No.8 located at 357 W. 16th St from 8-10pm. RSVP to ideason8.com

You Can’t Fake Fashion Launches with a Bang

Is there anything more fun than collaborating with 90 Top Designers to make a cool bag? Throwing the party to celebrate that collaboration! On Monday night, both Steven Kolb, Chief Executive Officer of the Council Designers of America (CFDA) and Devin Wenig, President of eBay Marketplaces, gathered around a “who’s who” in Fashion to toast to ”original design”. The campaign You Can’t Fake Fashion (launched the same day) aims at stopping counterfeit dead in its tracks. After dinner, it was my turn to take the floor by manning the turntables and… [MORE] getting the party bouncing with a bevy of hip guests bopping their heads up and down including Mara Hoffman, Pamela Love, Cushnie et Ochs, Rebecca Minkoff, Ruffian, and Steven Alan —  the list goes on and on. The bags (all on display) began to get ogled by party goers ready to take their bids. If you want to jump in the game, take a look at the entire YCFF collection here, and begin your bidding. The original tote is also available for $50. You have 5 more days to select the bag you love. Read more on eBay.

eBay Hits Russia

By Jauretsi

Stylist Oksana (pictured above) curated a collection of clothes from eBay and presented the looks at a runway event held for the city’s finest Fashion-philes. Having launched approximately a year ago in Russia, eBay is now a staple in the fashion loving nation and we’re excited to grow in the region. According to Forbes, Moscow has the largest community of billionaires in the world, which means Luxury is alive and well in the fast growing city.

I was honored to DJ the event to a room that… [MORE] began cheerfully moving early in the night. After that, I ducked out with Tumblr’s omnipresent Valentine Uhovski to do the Moscow party rounds. The city is gorgeous with hidden creative cafe’s, underground art galleries, and regal architecture. The whole Chanel family had converged into town to launch Karl Lagerfeld’s The Little Black Jacket exhibit. It was crème de le crème attendance ranging from Vanessa Paradis to Milla Jovovich, who after greeting the crowd in perfect Russian, busted out a rock set with her band. Rocker model Alice Dellal cheered near the stage in one of the best dressed rooms I’ve ever seen.

There is a new fashion icon added to my list of faves (filed beside Daphne Guinness of course). Her name is Uliana Sergeenko, who gracefully stirred through the Chanel party with Russia’s two other “It Girls”, Elena Perminova and Polina Kitsenko (pictured above by Karl Lagerfeld portrait). On my way out of the country, I swung through the Kremlin to pay respects to the buildings that provided so much historical context, including St Basil’s Church. I nabbed a chic little Russian Doll just to remind me of the whirlwind journey through the glorious capital city. Buh-Bye Russia, I’ll be back soon.

Hanuk Snaps eBay’s New York Dinner

By Jauretsi

As we closed up our LA cocktail event this Monday to celebrate the new eBay Feed in LA, we fondly look back at our New York event just last month. Here’s new snapshots from New York based night-life photographer Hanuk. His signature party snap is called “The Kiss”. Notice him smooching two ladies, The Inside Source’s writer Jenny Bahn (bottom center) and Jewelry Designer Anna Sheffeld (bottom right). He hopes to one day make a monster Kiss book. Here’s more from the mind of Hanuk…

Q: Thanks for coming to our cool little dinner for eBay. Can you tell me 3 things that made you smile in the room that night?

A: It was wonderful to see so many friendly, familiar faces at such a delicious dinner— such wonderful food and drinks, not to mention the entertainment! It was so amazing to see Soko live.

Q: When you search for things you love on eBay, are there any specific categories you’re obsessed with?

A: My obsessions come in phases, but they are very strong. For a while, it was all toys, The Tick and Nightmare Before Christmas. Then, I moved on to things I loved in the 80’s that you just couldn’t find anywhere else, from old rugby shirts to discontinued colognes.

Q: Tell us what you are up to with work? Any projects of yours we should follow in the coming months?

A: Right now I’m working on a book about all my kiss photos, and hope to have an exhibition/party early next year, with even more kisses there, of course.
