I Spy: Bones
Morbid but beautiful, we are absolutely loving this massive wall of steer and cow skulls spotted on photographer Tyler William Parker’s Instagram feed. The varied shapes and sizes, along with their close placement, lend the wall installation a very herd-like feeling. It might take you awhile, but if you want to start collecting skulls for your own abode, check out the selection of bones on eBay, including these huge steers.

Graphic We Love: Art Department Rules
We love that a nun came up with most eloquent set of guidelines for an art class. Here’s Sister Corita Kent’s 10 rules bestowed upon her students, courtesy of Lisa Congdon’s artistic interpretation via her blog.

Me and My Shadow
Using cobbled together refuse — from stray spatulas to broken bottles — artist Diet Wiegman creates seemingly meaningless sculptures that, when viewed from a certain angle, cast beautifully articulated shadows of iconic forms. Michael Jackson, Michelangelo’s David, and Venus de Milo all get cameos here. Wiegman proves that one man’s trash is truly another man’s high art.

Keep It Simple
Color is great in a wardrobe, but when it comes down to it, a few of us here at The Inside Source are dyed-in-the-wool New Yorkers. Translation: We love black. This shot is the perfect example of how textures and detail makes the shade shine. The Comme des Garçons wallet (seen above) is a perennial favorite. Check out the selection available on eBay.

Let There Be Light

Baltimore-based and Korean-born light artist Chul Hyun Ahn specializes in expressing “zen notions of the infinite and the void,” where the dimensions of space are communicated to the viewer with colorful lights of varied intensity. His works are beautiful rabbit holes, optical illusions that explore the impossible scope of the universe and our place within it.

Every bedroom or office wall needs a large graphic statement. If elegance is your wish, consider the classic art deco posters of the 30’s and 40’s. The era embraced luxury, art direction, and geometric patterns. The Welcome poster (seen above) will cost you $24.95 on eBay. There’s a myriad of other options if you search under "Art Deco" poster, or type it into your eBay Feed.

The Richard Neutra Kronish House
Austrian American architect Richard Neutra left behind him a legacy of beautiful modernist buildings, a great deal of them in Southern California. As you can imagine, owning a Neutra house is quite the status symbol. Occasionally, however, the work of this celebrated architect is in jeopardy. His Kronish House (seen here) was actually days from being torn down until Stavros Niarchos purchased it last year with promises to restore it. To brush up on your Neutra knowledge, check out eBay’s assortment of classic Neutra design books.
