The Barcelona Couch
Simple and sturdy, the Barcelona Couch is the perfect answer to a piece of lounge-about furniture that doesn’t shout for space. Originally designed in 1930 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, it has been replicated by nearly everyone at a variety of price points. Good thing eBay’s got them by the boatloads. Check out the selections here.

Dream Desks
By Jenny Bahn
Yes, just like every other psuedo-hipster living in Brooklyn, I am quite fond of mid-century design. Its clean lines, adherence to minimalistic principles, and lack of the cherry and birch woods of my 90’s youth, make it a frontrunner when it comes to furniture shopping. As it happens, I am in the market for a new desk. Design Within Reach has an abundance of premium options, but with my favorite desk coming in with a price tag of $1,900, it feels more like Design Out of Reach. The benefit of my fondness for mid-century design is that there is an abundance of affordable vintage options. In my research, I found some great deals on eBay, like this simple walnut desk for $250 and a piece by Broyhill Premier starting at $200. While we’re still in the office, this killer desk lamp in canary yellow is a total must.
