Last month, we reported on teacher and artist Caris Reid and her unique Instagram feed featuring the collages of her students. Miss Reid inspired once again, this time with a vintage shot showcasing women sporting intricate headpieces, kohl eyeliner, and a whole lot of beaded silk. Now that’s a party we want an invitation to.

What happens when a Boston University B.F.A. graduate/ art teacher signs up on Instagram? Welcome to the digital life of Caris Reid. Though the award-winning artist specializes in painting, on Instagram you’ll find a host of fascinating collages, completed not by Reid herself but by her students (Reid teaches a collage class utilizing vintage imagery, some of which can be seen here). Reid’s talented students blend roses, mountains, and chunks of meat into twisted landscapes… and that’s just the beginning.
