London has officially given the grand announcement to graffiti heads — no more tagging the streets. The message was heard clear with arrests of graffiti artists last week and the banning of street artists from Olympics venues. The Atlantic reports that Banksy has risen up as the leader of rebels painting 2 new pieces related to the Olympics. The controversy is that his work has become historical treasures. In 2007 Bristol Street cleaners painted over original Banksy work, and the city slapped them on the wrist, since the young artist murals increase property value on any block he hits worldwide.
