Mad Respect: Valentine Uhovski
When fashion giants like Carine Roitfeld launch their digital magazines, they consult people like Valentine Uhovski. His unconventional title at Tumblr — “Fashion Evangelist” — suits him well since Valentine does much more than your average tech job. He almost acts as a doula for fashion brands who need to spread their gospel through the digital landscape with some cool cred. Dior, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and Burberry have all come knocking on the door for his concise guidance. Perhaps that’s why Forbes put him on their 2013 Art & Style “30 Under 30” list.
But that’s not all he does. Valentine’s personal passion project, Art Ruby, is an addicting site that documents the here and now of the art world. In essence, if Valentine is excited about something, you should pay attention to it. This is why we have mad respect for him.
Valentine Uhovski: Fortune favors the bold.

My New Favorite Tumblr: The Paris Review
This week, I glanced upon the sweet pages of The Paris Review, a quarterly magazine that was founded in 1953. Well, the iconic magazine now has a Tumblr, addressed to “the good writers and good poets, the non-drumbeaters and non-axe grinders” according to their bio. Curated by Justin Alvarez, the blog is a variety of literary musings and visual nuggets. If you’re unfamiliar with the print edition, or just an avid collector of older issues, check out vintage Paris Reviews available on eBay.

eBay Hits Russia
Stylist Oksana (pictured above) curated a collection of clothes from eBay and presented the looks at a runway event held for the city’s finest Fashion-philes. Having launched approximately a year ago in Russia, eBay is now a staple in the fashion loving nation and we’re excited to grow in the region. According to Forbes, Moscow has the largest community of billionaires in the world, which means Luxury is alive and well in the fast growing city.
I was honored to DJ the event to a room that… [MORE] began cheerfully moving early in the night. After that, I ducked out with Tumblr’s omnipresent Valentine Uhovski to do the Moscow party rounds. The city is gorgeous with hidden creative cafe’s, underground art galleries, and regal architecture. The whole Chanel family had converged into town to launch Karl Lagerfeld’s The Little Black Jacket exhibit. It was crème de le crème attendance ranging from Vanessa Paradis to Milla Jovovich, who after greeting the crowd in perfect Russian, busted out a rock set with her band. Rocker model Alice Dellal cheered near the stage in one of the best dressed rooms I’ve ever seen.
There is a new fashion icon added to my list of faves (filed beside Daphne Guinness of course). Her name is Uliana Sergeenko, who gracefully stirred through the Chanel party with Russia’s two other “It Girls”, Elena Perminova and Polina Kitsenko (pictured above by Karl Lagerfeld portrait). On my way out of the country, I swung through the Kremlin to pay respects to the buildings that provided so much historical context, including St Basil’s Church. I nabbed a chic little Russian Doll just to remind me of the whirlwind journey through the glorious capital city. Buh-Bye Russia, I’ll be back soon.
