Birds of a Feather
Alright, so it’s a little bit morbid to collect nearly an entire ecosystem of dead birds, but we can’t help but admire the curatorial process seen here. Featuring owls, hawks, sparrows, a baby flamingo, and even a turkey, this bookless library has gone extreme taxidermy. The shelving, available from NYC’s Bungalow 5, provides a bright accompaniment, turning the room from an ancient and rather staid library to something curiously modern.

Taxidermy in Your Home
Here’s some home inspiration with wildlife. The Tribeca apartment above belongs to Charles Burkhalter and Arne Svenson, seen in a spread originally published by The New York Times. Their home embraces the mystical and strange. If you like the wise owl perched overlooking the room, take a look at these owls on eBay to conjure the animal spirit. For general taxidermy options, check out eBay’s selection of the moment.

What do you do when you’ve got 2000 square feet of empty loft to fill? Anything you want. This place reminds of us of a chic little flop house, complete with badly positioned sofas, antelope taxidermy, and a disco ball. There’s something kind of wonderful about how haphazard everything has been thrown together, down to the crooked picture frames. If you have a ton of space you just don’t know what to do with… [MORE], perhaps follow their lead. It’s an anything-goes approach to decorating that just might be the counter-balance to the hyper-articulated interior design culture we live in right now. To help you on your way, we’ve found everything you’ll need on eBay: a giant disco ball, a selection of sofas from the ’70s, and all the antelope mounts you could hope for.
