16 Days ‘til Christmas
Want to give the gift of art but can’t afford the real deal? This little piece from the artist KAWS — found in eBay curator (and musical powerhouse) Pharrell Williams’ “Best Toys Ever" collection — makes that idea accessible. It’s smaller, cheaper, and perfect for a holiday gift. Click here to see it.

A Farewell to Nigo
In the past we’ve drooled over BAPE toys and limited edition items found on eBay. Since 1993, A Bathing Ape’s Creative Director Nigo was the soul of the company. All good things come to an end. “As of April 30, 2013 the term of my contract with I.T Limited (the new owners of A Bathing Ape since January 2011) as Creative Director has concluded” writes Nigo. “This brings to a close my 20 years of work creating and designing A Bathing Ape.” Sniff. Sniff. Even artist KAWS made this beautiful painting in homage of his dear friend. Nigo will now exist in the land of freelance creator.
Expect to see all of Nigo’s work at BAPE fly off the shelves at eBay. We suggest you jump on it asap.

Insta-Peep-o-Gram: KAWS in Paris
By Sade Lythcott
Here’s a double feature on Instagrams we recommend. First is artist JR who is a world renowned TED prize winner for his mural project in Palestine and Israel. It seems JR has been following his artist friend KAWS on his recent launch in Paris at the Galerie Perrotin. The Wall Street Journal documents KAWS’ evolution from underground to international fame in a feature last week on WSJ.com.
JR (@jr_artist) snaps up his rarely photographed buddy, KAWS, beside his large sculpture. If you want to see it from KAWS’ perspective, you can follow him at @Kawsstudio on Instagram. The exhibit in Paris at Galerie Perrotin runs from Nov 3rd through December 22nd. For more info on “Imaginary Friends”, visit Perrotin.com.
