We think these sturdy Philippe Starck chairs look good in almost any office, home, or kitchen — be it modern or rustic. Luckily, we spotted a few of these chairs on eBay so you can provide your own unique environment for these versatile chairs to live in. The clear factor almost makes them chameleons pieces.

One Size Fits All
Alright, we know this is a nursery, but we wouldn’t mind living in this soft and pristine space (maybe hold the giraffe wall sconce). They’ve made a classy little rocking chair out of a Herman Miller Eames chair. Check out eBay’s selection of similar chairs. Keep in mind the bases are always easy to change.

Taxidermy in Your Home
Here’s some home inspiration with wildlife. The Tribeca apartment above belongs to Charles Burkhalter and Arne Svenson, seen in a spread originally published by The New York Times. Their home embraces the mystical and strange. If you like the wise owl perched overlooking the room, take a look at these owls on eBay to conjure the animal spirit. For general taxidermy options, check out eBay’s selection of the moment.

Hot and Cold
How do you accent a black brick wall? One word: warmth. The wood cabinets in the background and the gorgeous leather chair in camel make this office look less Deadhead garage and more Hermes handbag.
True to form, we did a little scouring of eBay to see what we could find to replicate this look in our own homes. Though we couldn’t find anything that exactly matched the absolute treasure of a chair seen in this picture, we did find some… [MORE] solid replacements. Check out this midcentury leather desk chair in a dark claret. This Danish modern swivel desk chair nearly gets it, nailing the camel coloring but designed to be more of a statement piece. If you’re looking for lamps, this black metal desk lamp from the ’50s is a must. Get ‘em before they’re gone!

Acne Studios Opens in Tokyo

By Jenny Bahn

To the delight of those craving Sweden’s favorite fashion-meets-rock-and-roll brand a little further from home, Acne Studios has just opened their first flagship store in Asia. Located in the Aoyama district of Tokyo, the shop was designed to be a “home within a store.” And who wouldn’t want their home to look like this? Acne, with their signature dusty rose shopping bags, has been routinely able to imbue the feminine with the masculine, and vice versa. Never one to shy away from softer shades, the store works with an adept combination of pastels and faded jewel tones, like a castle left to bleach in the sun. Interior designers, take note.

Queen of New York

By Sade Lythcott

This month’s Architectural Digest spotlights the über fashionable pied-à-terre of Diane von Furstenberg, a live-work space in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. It’s a stunning glass and steel aerie that Madam Furstenberg refers to as her “tree house.” The space is an exquisite portrait of her tastes, passions, and travels.

We can learn a lot from DVF. Here are five tips and takeaways from the “tree house” tour that you might consider when decorating your own space.

1. Mixing and matching the same color prints can add rich and sumptuous texture to a room.

2. Splashes of color help to highlight and… [MORE] showcase all of the wonderful details of a space.

3. Art with a capital “A.” Art is such a great way to enunciate your taste, aesthetic, and personality.

4. Signature seating. Think outside the box when it comes to choosing chairs and couches.

5. Whenever you travel, bring back something home besides fond memories. Nicknacks from abroad can add a touch of character and uniqueness to your space. Obscure odds and ends can also jump start a conversation when you have guests over.

Rock The Casbah
By Sade Lythcott
Ever chic, and ever timeless, is the Moroccan interior. Although it may appear to look expensive to achieve this globe-trotting aesthetic, it actually really isn’t. Here’s the 5 things you need to turn your drab room into a scene out of Casablanca (on any budget!).
1. Fresh Coat of Paint:  All you have to do is pick your favorite color and then pretend that it has survived a sand storm. For example pink would be converted into dusty rose.
2. Lanterns: This is a fun way to add some of your own personality.  If you have more of a modern esthetic, you may want to buy one brand new signature piece from your favorite furniture store which may cost you a pretty penny. Or you can mix and match lanterns from flea markets and second hand shops. I founds some pretty cool ones one here on Ebay
[MORE]
 3. Decorative Mirrors: Make a bold decorative statement with the type of mirror you choose.  Remember the more ornate frame, the better. Some of these options here on Ebay
 4. Throw Pillows and Rugs: Here vintage is the way to go. Mix and match patterns and designs with a concentration on the color burgundy to add a rich medina feel.
 5. Tiles: I know you’re thinking tile work is expensive and can require specialist to install which may be out of your budget. Well, you are both right and wrong. Remember the first rule of thumb is to think outside of the box. Tile work is amazing if you have the resources, but if not there are loads of wall paper designs and stencils that can give you the very same look.
