Chris Benz for eBay Holiday Collective 2012

By Jauretsi

"I’ve always felt that I was part of the eBay family just because I spent so much time on eBay myself," says Designer Chris Benz. It’s a good thing he felt that way, because we’re thrilled over the moon he got inspired to make a Limited Edition series of items for eBay this Holiday Season. Diverse in range, from a scarf to stationary, the collection embodies his signature palettes, which we’re proud to release just around the corner, November 12, 2012. To view all the Chris Benz pieces, visit eBay Holiday Collective Products

"I’m a craft person" admits Jonathan Adler, the only designer in our upcoming Holiday Collection to be considered an iconic potter. Adler conceived a brilliant set of home wares from picture frames to a spiked white ceramic box. Here’s a brief visit into Adler’s spirit as he discusses his special collection on sale November 12. To view the whole collection, visit eBay Holiday Collection 2012 products. You’ll be thrilled to discover the affordable Adler pieces if you’re a current fan of his Soho store in New York City. Start checking off your Christmas list. This is a perfect gift for any design aficionado.

Tibi for eBay Holiday Collection 2012

By Jauretsi

As one of the seven designers for eBay’s Holiday Collection 2012, Tibi created some adorable items she describes as “cozy, cool, and feminine for a wintery holiday night.” The grey and black sweatshirt series even has a little wink towards the lovable penguin. Spikes are Golden
By Jauretsi
Spikes are a fashion accessory long associated with rebellion — from the punk movement to dark underground clubs. A bevy of high-end designers — everyone from Christian Louboutin to Alice Temperley — have taken a gander at the spike movement, thereby bringing the trend out into the bright lights.
Fallon has taken a shot at “spike love” with her eBay Holiday Collection 2012, a limited edition collection of jewelry available on November 12th. Fallon (one of our seven designers) introduces a stellar line of gold spike pieces (pictured above) to make the jaw drop. Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down
By Jauretsi
This year we’ve really seen the reintroduction of the female tie. One of the most iconic women to transform this masculine fashion piece into one with feminine, intellectual appeal was Diane Keaton in 1977’s Annie Hall. Recently, both Chloë Sevigny and Emmy Rossum took the headstrong look to new places for Miu Miu and Ralph Lauren, respectively. Lucky for us, the design duo Ruffian created two special ties for the eBay Holiday Collection to be released next month (pictured to the left of Rossum). Keep your eye on November 12th, when these two limited edition ties will be available online at eBay.

eBay Holiday Capsule Collection Designers: Ruffian
On Tuesday, we announced eBay’s first ever group collaboration with 7 Designers as they release their Holiday Capsule collection on November 12, 2012. Today we visit one of the minds behind the collective, Designer duo Ruffian, the acclaimed cult New York Label. We’re still giddy about their Ruffian Red nails released last month. Here’s Brian Wolk and Claude Morais’ thoughts on this holiday, their customer, and smart eBay tips for shopping.
Jauretsi: If you had to describe a day in the life of your customer, how would they spend the day ideally?
Ruffian: She hits her snooze button many times, grabs a coffee and croissant at Balthazar and heads to… [MORE] Chelsea to catch the most recent exhibition at Gagosian and Mary Boone Gallery. She walks uptown on the high line to her studio, and after a few hours of work, has lunch with her best friend at Bergdorf’s. After lunch she decides to make Central Park her office with the help of her iPhone. She strolls over to Madison Avenue for some window shopping, and meets her boyfriend for a late afternoon Martini at Bemelman’s. They decide they are in the mood for asian food and head downtown to their favorite booth at Indochine for a romantic dinner.
Q: When did you first realize you wanted to become a designer?
Brian: When I made my own Peter Pan Costume for my 4th Grade Play.
Claude: When my Dad found me in My Mothers Shoe Closet!
