Creature of the Black Lagoon is Back!
By Jauretsi
First released in March 5, 1954, The Creature of the Black Lagoon has recently  received a new 3-D digital restoration, and will play in local U.S. art house theaters this Fall (New York showings to be screened at The Film Forum from October 12-18).
The real star of the film was beach babe Julie Adams who wore her white one-piece swimsuit with grace and aplomb while evading the swampy creature of the night. The movie was one of the first Universal movies to be filmed in 3-D (the first was It Came from Outer Space, which was released a year before). Considering most movies today are riddled with CGI, it will be refreshing to see a good ‘ol fashioned monster suit in action.
