Marc Jacobs has done a lot of living over the course of fifty years, and we can certainly say that he only looks better and becomes more successful with each passing year. Company Girl: Yara Flinn, of Nomia

Meet Yara Flinn, a designer for her own line called Nomia. A lover of music, she told Rolling Stone she listened to Grimes, A.R & Machines, Elite Gymnastics, Burial and Zomby for a little inspiration while creating her 2012 collection. The Inside Source caught up with Yara on a post-winter day with the new sun just to snap her outfit of the day.

Alexander Wang Takes Over Balenciaga By Jauretsi This week, Alexander Wang will be taking the reigns of the respected fashion house started by a Basque designer in 1918. Wang will serve as the new creative director, which was freshly announced by WWD. The PPR-owned fashion house selected Wang to replace the highly acclaimed Nicolas Ghesquière (who had his final day at the house last week). Wow. The game is getting interesting. Wang has extremely enormous shoes to fill, but the young designer (almost 30 years old) has proved to manage his own fashion house with grace and aplomb. The trick will be for Wang to grow Balenciaga while nurturing his own line, too. We’re counting the days until we see Wang’s first Balenciaga collection. No doubt that Ghesquière will be moving on to finer challenges in his own illustrious career. Our eyes are equally focused on both genius minds. Let the games begin.  (Photo: Courtesy of GQ)

Animal Spirit: The Penguin By Jauretsi This Holiday season, we look to the Penguin as our animal spirit to observe. Luckily eBay’s Holiday Collection offers just that. eBay Holiday Capsule Collection Designer: Fallon  Dana Lorenz is the final Designer in our series of eBay Holiday Designers with her exclusive collection to be sold this November 12, 2012 on eBay. Other Designers in the collection include Steven Alan, Billy Reid, Ruffian, Chris Benz, Tibi, and Jonathan Adler. Dana describes her line as “inspired by hard-edges, romance, and history”. If you haven’t met this lovable woman, get to know her on Hulu’s 6 part series, The Fashion Fund, which follows 10 American Designers receiving the coveted Vogue Fashion Fund. We asked her a few questions and learned a few things, including her tug of war with a close friend over a Chanel bag on eBay.  Jauretsi: If you had to describe a day in the life of your customer, how would they spend the day ideally? Dana Lorenz: I see the FALLON woman as [MORE] one that works hard, plays hard, and rewards herself. However, ideally, she would have the day off, and would spend it shopping with friends, hitting a new exhibit at a museum, and then off to dinner and drinks with people she loves. Q: When did you first realize you wanted to become a designer? I seized a once in a lifetime opportunity and took advantage of a combination of good timing and a little bit of luck and talent. I was unemployed, making pieces as a personal endeavor for me and my friends, when I happened upon a runway collaboration. Barneys and Vogue called and it has been non-stop since. Q: Do you have a specific “aha find” on eBay? What was the item? A pair of vintage navy Hermes penny loafers. Also, the time my good friend and I unknowingly kept outbidding each other on the same vintage forest green Chanel bag made for some laughs! Q: What are your top 3 fav holiday movies? Auntie Mame, Love Actually, Christmas Vacation Q: In terms of online searches, what do you recommend is the most savvy thing or genre to search for on eBay?
