Art Stars Tag Up a Classic
What do art legends like Jeff Koons, Jenny Holzer, David Hockney, Alexander Calder, Roy Lichtenstein, and Andy Warhol have in common? They love BMW. Currently, the classic car brand is exhibiting a myriad of vehicles designed by expertly curated art icons. The collection took 35 years to amass, and what better time to show off to the world than the 2012 Olympics? Artist Frank Stella (seen above) added slick shark fins to his piece.
The Mayor of London got together with BMW and ICA and took over a landmark car park in Shoreditch to [MORE] present these treasures. Other artists include Ernst Fuchs, Robert Rauschenberg, M.J Nelson, Ken Done, Matazo Kayama, Cesar Manrique, A.R Penck, Esher Mahlangu, and Sandro Chia. Check out some of the car images here.
