Style File: Ryan Korban

Over the last few years, self-taught interior designer Ryan Korban has been the go-to for home decor within the fashion set, whipping up perfectly executed living spaces for the likes of Alexander Wang, Natasha Poly, and the Traina sisters. This 27-year-old is one you’re going to want to watch for home inspiration.

Trendspotting: Fur Gloves

Momma said knock you out! There’s nothing subtle about this variety of fur glove we’ve seen at both Alexander Wang (bottom) and Altuzarra (top) this NYFW. These are probably the warmest things you’ll ever treat your fingers to, though you’ll probably have a hard time dialing out on your cell phone.

Trendspotting: The Grid
This week we’ve seen a lot of designers thinking inside the box, so to speak, replacing the crazed, anything-goes patterns of the last few seasons with the contained formality of a grid. Everyone from Alexander Wang (seen here) to Ohne Titel is circumventing print mania for Fall 2013. And Mathieu Mirano’s sheer, square adorned gowns are proof that a little self-restraint in the print department can make a big statement.

FW Style: Linda Tol
We’re fan of a bleached crop cut here at The Inside Source. That’s why we snapped Linda’s whole ensemble which is tighter than tight! She spends most of the day handling PR and Sales for LifestyleHunters.com. On the side she told us she browses eBay alot perusing the site for Designer bags and shoes. A sample of the brands she wears? Let’s start with this look — leather jacket by H&M, shirt is SPORTMAX Carte Blanche, Skirt is Rika, leather pants by V&H, and shoes by Alexander Wang.

Alexander Wang Takes Over Balenciaga
By Jauretsi
This week, Alexander Wang will be taking the reigns of the respected fashion house started by a Basque designer in 1918. Wang will serve as the new creative director, which was freshly announced by WWD. The PPR-owned fashion house selected Wang to replace the highly acclaimed Nicolas Ghesquière (who had his final day at the house last week). Wow. The game is getting interesting.
Wang has extremely enormous shoes to fill, but the young designer (almost 30 years old) has proved to manage his own fashion house with grace and aplomb. The trick will be for Wang to grow Balenciaga while nurturing his own line, too. We’re counting the days until we see Wang’s first Balenciaga collection. No doubt that Ghesquière will be moving on to finer challenges in his own illustrious career. Our eyes are equally focused on both genius minds. Let the games begin.
