eBay Ninja Tricks: Nasty Gal’s Sophia Amoruso
The New York Times recently had an informative article on online shopping. In the endless game of “searches”, the newspaper recommends typing in synonyms when searching out a product. For example, type in “coat” instead of “jacket”. “On sites like eBay, try leaving out words” writes NYT, “if you are looking for an Yves Saint Laurent handbag on eBay, search for ‘Saint Laurent’ or ‘Laurent bag’.”
Sophia Amoruso of the e-commerce site Nasty Gal adds to the tip: “If you search for ‘Yves Saint Laurent,’ you’ll be fighting over pieces with a bigger group of people,” she says while suggesting to purposefully… [MORE] misspell brand names as well. “Think of what an uninformed person might list a really great designer piece as, and you can get an amazing gem for an incredible price.”
Last but not least tip for your aggressive Fashion odyssey, you should know that eBay Fashion also lets shoppers search by taking a cellphone picture of a fabric to find similar designs. To read the rest of the piece, visit New York Times’ Online Shopping Tips for the Holidays.
