Beachmint, eBay & The Olsen Twins
Today is the launch of a cool partnership between eBay and a social commerce site we love called Beachmint. Their mission? Get notable names (designers, stylists, celebs) to pair up with designers in order to create their dream products (clothes, jewelry, home decor). The Fashion Vault just launched the Olsen collection with a week-long sale of goodies. Some buddy partnerships curated on Beachmint include Justin Timberlake with Estee Stanley or Rachel Bilson with Nicole Chavez.
The new collection launched today is by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen called “Stylemint”. We asked the cool sisters a few questions about shopping, personal style, and passion for design.  .. [MORE]
Jauretsi: Developing a personal style can be difficult, what is your advice to people struggling to find their identity through their style?
Ashley Olsen: Experiment with new trends and have fun with fashion to find your personal style. It’s most important to feel comfortable and confident.
Q: You’re known for your love of vintage- what are you thoughts on eBay’s vintage selection?
Mary Kate: When I shop vintage I search for special, one of a kind items. I love how eBay connects you to people and closets you wouldn’t typically have access to.
Q: StyleMint is just as much about the product as it is about the overall experience. Why is the overall “social commerce” experience important for a brand like StyleMint?
A: StyleMint’s shopping experience allows us to have an open dialog with our community, which is exciting. We learn more about them and what they like every month and we love sharing styling advice and our vision for each collection.
Q: When shopping for a Tee, what are the top 3 things people should look?
A: Fit, fabric and drape.
Q: StyleMint launched with T’s and now customers can get full looks. Do you design with full looks in mind per month?
MK: Whether we’re designing for Elizabeth and James, Olsenboye or StyleMint, we always consider styling and the full look. We’ll be rounding out StyleMint’s product assortment with more dresses, skirts and pants over the next few months. We’ll also introduce seasonal capsules like sweaters and cold weather accessories later this Fall.
Q: How did you come up with the name StyleMint for the brand?
A: Well, Mint is a given when you’re joining the Beachmint family. Our vision was to create a destination that offers fashion and styling advice. Style was the natural choice.
