Funny Face is Restored
By Jauretsi
To all the Fashionistas who have never seen Funny Face, now is the chance to take advantage on the big screen. For a short time, New York’s Film Forum will be presenting the new DCP restoration of the classic film — bringing back the eye-popping Technicolor to it’s original vision. The film runs only from June 29 to July 5th.

For the newbies, the plot is just as relevant as it was in 1957. The story revolves around Quality Magazine (based on Vogue) and it’s Editor (based on Diana Vreeland) hunting for a new trend. Fred Astaire who plays a top photographer (based on Richard Avedon) thinks the bookshop clerk in the West Village (Audrey Hepburn) is just the right face for the part. Did we mention Audrey rocks a serious scarlet Givenchy dress in this flick?
If you miss the screening, you can always buy the movie (bids begin at $4), or better yet, get yourself some vintage Givenchy in honor of Audrey.
